Koh Chang national park:
Koh Chang is a national park and the largest of a group of 47 islands. It is one of the last of remaining lush virgin rain forests in Thailand. It is the second biggest island in the group but not yet as built up and commercial as other islands in Thailand.
The high season (dry season) runs from 1st October to mid June. The rainy season runs from mid June to mid Sept. There are 3 hospitals on the island.
Koh Chang Getting There:
By air: via Trat airport and ferry
By road: Take the Highway 3, the Bangna – Trat road. Continue until the Chonburi Bypass and here turn off ontoHighway 344. Follow this road past Ban Bung and when you reach the Klaeng Crossroads turn back onto Highway 3 and continue on towards Trat. Use 4-5 hours.
By Bus The Ekamai Bus Terminal is the main terminal for the eastern province, which can be reached by the BTS Skytrain/Ekamai Station. The other station is Mochit 2 on Kampaeng Petch Road. The trip is about 5 hours. The bus station at Trat is around 2 km from the town proper. You can catch the taxi to downtown or to the pier
By boat: Koh Chang, Koh Wai, Koh Maak and Koh Kham can be reached by ferry from the nearby port of Laem Ngop. To get there from Trat take a share Taxi for 20B or, if you don't want to wait until it fills up, hire a full taxi for 120B.

By PlaneTrat have only Bangkok Airways. Trat Airport is located on the mainland. From Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport direct to Trat Airport. The fight time is 60 minutes. Check at BangkokAir Next, find the van to go to Koh Chang. You can book it at the airport or you can call them to pick-up. The van will send you to your hotel or resort. The price approximate 500 baht include ferry price.

Centrepoint Ferry:
Centrepoint ferry is the only ferry that offers reduced fares for return transfers. Before you buy a return ticket, you should be sure that you have the plan for return to Bangkok. Most minibuses and private transfers use the quicker ferry from Ao Sapparod pier.
Koh Chang Ferry:
These are the quicker ferries, taking around 30 – 45 minutes to cross between the mainland pier at Ao Thammachat and Ao Sapparod pier. Most private transfers, minibuses from Bangkok and minibuses from Trat Airport use this pier. They don’t have return ticket. Have only one way ticket.
Getting Around:
On Koh Chang hourly share taxis run between all the beaches as far as Lonely Beach and the ferry terminals from 6am to 8pm. They can be flagged down anywhere and used to travel around the island.
Alternatively cars, motorcycles and bicycles can be hired from many hire firms and resorts.
